I think my answer is FW800 to FW800 to FW800 to Thunderbolt. I can link the three externals aSATA but I cannot get that into Thunderbolt, right? Is it better to go USB2 to USB2 to USB2 to Thunderbolt? The first two drives, the smaller ones, only have mini USB.
I try uninstalling the drivers for both the Firebox and Firestudio, but fail at both. I download a program that tries to force uninstall them and it says it succeeded, but both drivers are still there. I restart the computer 20 times but cannot uninstall anything at all. If you’ve already got a digital audio workstation you’re comfortable with, chances are the FireStudio Project will integrate seamlessly with your setup.
- Rather than posting the comment directly on this thread, you can posts it on your own weblog.
- That and a clean Windows reinstall would have definitely solved all the problems, unless there was other bad harddware — but it doesn’t look like there was because SuSE installed nicely.
- The GoFlex Desk for Mac drive comes with two interfaces, USB 2.0 and FireWire 800.
- This will automatically look for and install the updated driver of the hardware from the internet.
As you’ve found, HDMI – DisplayPort adapters are not bidirectional. Adapting a DisplayPort source to an HDMI display requires a cheap and relatively simple adapter but adapting an HDMI source to a DisplayPort display requires expensive, complex hardware. My hunch is once you’ve converted to some kind of DisplayPort, converting it further to DisplayPort Alternate Mode on USB-C is feasible. The LG 4K monitor is not a Thunderbolt 3 device so it’s more likely to work. DisplayPort is native to USB-C and part of Thunderbolt 3 . So you don’t need to use a Thunderbolt 2 to 3 converter at all.
What voltage is a 3.5 hard drive?
Some of the faster drives, such as Western Digital Raptors, come with SAS connectors, so be aware when you mail-order one. Standard SATA drives can be connected to an SAS controller, but SAS drives can’t be connected to a standard SATA controller. 3.5-inch drives generally come in 5200, 7200, 10,000 and 15,000 RPM models Click Here.
Until recently, the largest and fastest portable drives have used the IEEE-1394a (FireWire/iLink) interface, which is many times faster than USB 1.x. However, with the advent of USB 2.0 (also known as Hi-Speed USB), several vendors now support this faster version of USB. A USB hub isn’t daisy chaining, whereas a FireWire is daisy chained. Another feature on board FireWire-equipped Macs is Target Disk Mode. Mention those three words to a long-time Mac user and they’ll likely tell you it’s saved their life on one or more occasions – some might try this canon driver say it’s one of the features that makes a Mac a Mac. If your Mac won’t boot, just plug it into another Mac with a FireWire cable and hold the T key while booting.
